Mommy Please… a poem by me.

Mommy look, I can finally smile

Yes baby, I will be with you in a very short while

Mommy see, I can babble and coo

Just after this baby, I will be right with you

Mommy wow, I can roll almost all the way

Sorry baby, I won’t have time to play

Mommy yay, I was able to crawl

Please baby don’t get too close to the wall

Mommy mommy, I can finally walk

Sweet baby, I will get to you after your sister and I talk

But mommy, I am almost all grown

Oh baby, despite having siblings, you grew up all alone

When I smile at you or babble and coo, please give me some love and attention too.

Despite my older siblings who were taking up all your time,

I too have my achievements and my need to shine.

So please celebrate me like you did my older sister and brother,

For just like to them, you are my mother.

I love you,

Your second child.
